The inauguration of 18 instructional classrooms equipped with top rate facilities marks another history in the 16 years of existence of the Regional Science High School. For 15 years, it shared resources with its mother school, the Tumauini National High School. Today, RSHS achieved full independence as it starts operation in its new campus in the heart of Camp Samal, Tumauini, Isabela.
Part of the realization of RSHS dream is the collaborative efforts of the administration, faculty and staff, PTA officials, parents, Local Government Unit of Tumauini, DepEd officials, and the provincial government of Isabela.
With the strong linkage of Regional Science High School to its stakeholders and with the pouring of support from private sectors and various government agencies, RSHS was able to complete the construction of 18-classroom building in just a year through the leadership and initiative of Dr. Fabio M. Macalling Jr., principal of RSHS, who maximized all resources and tapped stakeholders to realize his dream of giving students a place they can call their home.
Apart from being a WiFi campus, the ten instructional classrooms, e-library, and science laboratory are now installed with LCD projectors in response to the DepEd thrust of institutionalizing Information Communication Technology (ICT) instruction in basic education.
Regional Science High School has proven its worth in providing quality education for the past 16 years. The achievements of the school in various national competitions and the large number of students passing the qualifying exams in the premiere universities in the country are living testaments that RSHS is strongly committed on giving the best to its students.
Like its new home standing magnificently in the heart of Camp Samal, the Regional Science High School stands still, strong, and resilient as it continues its journey towards academic excellence.
The dream has been realized and the vision has been fulfilled. Now that it has its legitimate abode, RSHS is now preparing itself to cross beyond borders.
Regional Science High School (RSHS Region II) is located at Camp Samal, Arcon,Tumauini, Isabela. It is among the top performing schools in the Cagayan Valley Region. Its present principal is Sir Inocencion T. Balag. Past principals include Dr. Fabio M. Macalling, Jr. and Ma'am Nelia Z. Angoluan. Regional Science High School has a curriculum that specializes in science, research, mathematics and english.
